Alain Giresse Departs as Kosovo Football Coach
Alain Giresse is no longer the coach of Kosovo. The Kosovo Football Federation (KFF) sacked their French coach following a defeat in a Euro 2024 qualifier. The KFF released a statement saying that “by mutual agreement with coach Alain Giresse it has been decided to terminate the cooperation”.
The current head coach of the Kosovo National Football Team is Alain Giresse. He was appointed as the new coach on February 23, 2022, by the Kosovo Football Federation.
Alain Giresse is a French football coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the Kosovo National Football Team.
He has had a long and successful coaching career, having managed several clubs and national teams. Giresse began his coaching career in 1995 with Toulouse, where he managed the team until 1998. He then went on to manage Paris Saint-Germain in 1998, before returning to Toulouse in 1999. Giresse also managed FAR Rabat in Morocco from 2001 to 2003 and the Georgian national team from 2004 to 2005.
As a player, Giresse was a midfielder who played for Bordeaux and Marseille, among other clubs. He was named French Player of the Year in 1982, 1983, and 1987.
