Beauvais Air Traffic Controllers’ Strike Causes 50% Flight Cancellations

Beauvais airport is experiencing disruptions due to a strike by air traffic controllers. One flight out of two has been cancelled, and the disruptions are expected to last from Wednesday evening until Friday morning. Strikes by French air traffic controllers are a recurring source of anger for foreign airlines, which are often forced to bypass the country. This is not the first time that air traffic controllers in France have gone on strike, as they have been taking part in rolling strikes since January 2023 to protest against an increase in the legal retirement age from 62 to 64.
