EA Restructures Development Studios, Establishes Dedicated Sports Division

EA has divided its development studios into two organizations, one of which is focused on sports titles. The new strategy involves organizing its studies in two divisions: one dedicated to sports video games, under the name of EA SPORTS, and another division, called EA Entertainment, which will focus on other types of games.

EA’s division of its development studios into two organizations, one focused on sports titles, will not affect the development of non-sports games at EA. The new structure involves EA Entertainment overseeing the non-sports games within Electronic Arts and includes studios like Respawn, DICE, Ripple Effect, and Ridgeline.

EA Entertainment will focus on other types of games, and its games leadership team will be structured much as before. Samantha Ryan remains responsible for “lifestyle franchises and blockbuster single-player experiences”. Therefore, the restructuring will not affect the development of non-sports games at EA, and the company will continue to develop amazing games and entertainment experiences for players around the world.
