Reimagining Black Art: The Met’s 2024 Exhibition Celebrating African American Excellence

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York City announced on March 8, 2023, that it will be hosting a major exhibition on Black art in the United States in 2024. The exhibition, titled “Black Art in America: A History of the Movement,” will explore the history of Black art in the United States from the 18th century to the present day.

The exhibition will feature over 200 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper. The works will be drawn from The Met’s own collection as well as from other museums and private collections.
