Tesla’s Cybertruck Revolution: Unveiling the First Production Model Four Years Later

Tesla has finally produced its first Cybertruck pickup, almost four years after its initial presentation. The announcement was made by Tesla on Twitter, accompanied by a photo of workers in safety gear partially obscuring the vehicle. The Cybertruck was first unveiled as a concept in November 2019, with production originally planned to begin in late 2021. However, there were delays in production, and the first Cybertruck has now rolled off the assembly line in Texas in July 2023, approximately two years behind the original schedule.

According to communications that Tesla sent to suppliers, the company is planning to produce 375,000 Cybertrucks per year. This is the base production volume that Tesla has asked suppliers to plan for, and it is more aggressive than what Elon Musk communicated publicly at Tesla’s annual shareholder’s meeting. The first Cybertruck has just rolled off the assembly line in July 2023, so it is unclear how many Cybertrucks will be produced in the first year. However, based on Tesla’s plan to produce 375,000 Cybertrucks per year, it is possible that a significant number of Cybertrucks will be produced in the first year.
