India Spearheads 6G Development with New Alliance Formation

India has formed the Bharat 6G Alliance, a government-backed group aimed at driving the development and deployment of 6G technology in the country. The alliance is industry-led and supported by the Indian government, with the goal of translating India’s 6G vision into reali. It aims to bring together Indian startups, companies, and the manufacturing ecosystem to establish consortia that drive the design, development, and innovation in next-generation wireless technology.

The alliance also seeks to secure 10% of global 6G patents by 2030. This initiative by India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) demonstrates the country’s ambitions to lead in the field of next-generation mobile internet technology.
