Urgent Search for Missing 9-Year-Old Charlotte A. Senna: Community Mobilizes as Authorities Investigate Alleged Abduction

A distressing incident unfolded on Saturday night at Moreau Lake State Park in Gansevoort, New York, involving the alleged abduction of a 9-year-old girl named Charlotte A. Senna. Authorities urgently seek the public’s assistance in finding her. Described as approximately 1.37 meters tall and weighing 40 kg, Charlotte was last seen around 6:15 p.m., wearing an orange Pokemon T-shirt, dark blue pants, black Crocs, and a gray bike helmet. She has blond hair and green eyes.

Governor Kathy Hokul, in a press conference, shared that Charlotte had been biking with friends and family in a designated area of the park on Saturday evening. Around 6:45 p.m., her family discovered her bike abandoned on the roadside, leading to an immediate call to security services.

Local police responded swiftly, arriving at the park by 7 p.m. Since then, over 100 personnel and 75 investigators have thoroughly searched the area using various resources, including dogs, drones, boats, and underwater rescue teams. Governor Hokul expressed deep empathy for Charlotte’s parents, acknowledging the anguish they must be enduring. Describing Charlotte as a fourth-grade student recently elected as a class representative in the student council, she emphasized the joy the young girl brings to her family’s life.

Lt. Col. Richard Mazona indicated the possibility of abduction following extensive searches in the park. Governor Hokul reiterated the commitment to doing everything possible to locate Charlotte, urging the public to contribute any information that could assist in bringing her home safely. The community’s collective effort is crucial in the urgent quest to find the missing 9-year-old girl.
